Riya’s work sits at the intersection of technology commercialization, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with a growing focus on FemTech and women’s health solutions. As Principal & Founder of Mauve Innovation, she helps startups protect and leverage their intellectual assets for global impact. A passionate advocate for gender equity in innovation, she also serves on multiple boards and committees championing women-led ventures. With a career spanning leadership roles across Western Canada’s innovation ecosystem, she brings deep expertise in IP strategy, economic development, and research commercialization to FemTech W.

Kate Ellis
CO-FOUNDER
Kate brings to FemTech W a passion for ecosystem building, grounded in her experience in applied health research, knowledge transfer, and strategic partnerships. As CEO and Founder of Bombus R&I, she supports innovators in translating ideas into meaningful impact. An ardent advocate for women’s and femme health, Kate approaches her work through a feminist lens and is driven by the potential of Canadian FemTech to transform lives globally. She is a seasoned strategist with experience collaborating across academia, industry, non-profits, government, and start-ups.

Sandra is a dynamic leader committed to harnessing innovation to tackle pressing health challenges. Her career spans entrepreneurship, clinical care, innovation funding, philanthropy, and government, giving her a multifaceted perspective on health systems change. With degrees in Kinesiology and Business Administration from the University of Alberta, she blends health expertise with business acumen to advance people-centered solutions. At FemTech W, Sandra channels her experience into strengthening the community and championing impactful innovation in women’s health.
